Yoyo is one of the main characters of Bahamut Lagoon.
About[]
Daughter of the King Kahna, the ruler of the eponymous Kingdom of Kahna, and niece to the Queen Campbell, Yoyo is the Kingdom of Kahna's only princess and prospective ruler, and is also rumored to have inherited the power of a Dragnar, a powerful wizard with the ability to commune with the Divine Dragons and summon their power.
As a teenager, she was a close friend of Byuu, the future Commander of Kahna's War Dragon Squadron, and was quite fond of him, as he was. One day, they ran from Kahna Castle and from Matelite, taking off on Salamander and making their way to the Church of Memories. Due to her youthful expectation that her and Byuu's affection would remain the same, she asked if he would bring her back to the Church as adults, if their feelings did not change. Whether or not Byuu agreed, fate had already plans for them.
Years later, Yoyo struggles with the expectations of her father and the Kingdom and fails to awaken her abilities to hear the Divine Dragons and was slowly overshadowed by Byuu in the eyes of her advisors and friends, who come to see the Princess as a figurehead and Byuu as a true leader and protector of Kahna thanks to his role as one of the very few Cross Knights in existence and as the Commander of the War Dragon Squadron, with the exception of Matelite, who's obsession with Yoyo made him blind to the achievement of all others.
During the fall of the Kingdom of Kahna, she was taken away by Emperor Sauther, who seeking her power to communicate and understand the heart and will of the Divine Dragons. The Emperor then murdered King Kahna and brought the country under his yolk. While Yoyo was taken away to Granbelos, the Kahnan advisors and warriors managed to flee the Castle, evade capture and organized a rebel faction.
For several years, Yoyo was held as a hostage in Granbelos, although Sauther insists that she was nothing less than his esteemed guest. It is implied that she was treated well, but isolated, although suspicions of torture were brought up by Taicho. During her isolation, the only human voice she heard, and her only moral support, was General Susua Palpaleos, who reminded her of Byuu, as they were both exceptional leaders and cross knights, but he was also very kind to her. It is implied that they grew close during her years of isolation and solitude.
After an unspecified amount of time, however, Sauzer enacted his plan to become the man who will fulfill the Divine Dragons' prophecy and took Yoyo to the lair of Valitra, where she would reunite with Byuu and the Kahna Rebellion. At first, Sauzer presents himself as a reasonable man, and request Yoyo to commune with the sleeping dragon. However, when Yoyo admits her inability to do so, he pretends to free her, claiming he had no use for her. As she left, however, he attempts to end the rebellion right there and there. When Byuu attempts to rescue Yoyo from Sauzer's grasp, the latter makes very, very short work of the best warriors of Kahna, demonstrating that his power was already great even without the power of the Divine Dragons. It is thanks to Yoyo's sudden awakening of her abilities that Valitra manages to intervene and fight Sauzer off, injuring his body and allowing Yoyo to walk away with the Rebels.
Now free from Granbelos and back with her faithful and loyal friends, Yoyo becomes the figurehead of the Kahna Rebellion, but due Sauzer's machinations, she also grew interested in the legends behind the Divine Dragons, which becomes her main motivation for the continuation of the war against the Empire. After reuniting with Byuu, she at first seems overjoyed to see him again. However, she is incredibly awkward around him, often asking vague questions which Byuu sometimes misinterprets as attempts to rekindle whatever is left of their feelings, and many, like Sendak, immediately assume they are falling in love.
First order of business for Yoyo is to liberate the Cambpell Continent so they could meet the Queen of Campbell, her paternal aunt, and question her regarding the hidden legend regarding the Divine Dragons, a secret that was supposedly known only to the Kahna Royalty. While Queen Campbell as shy little to share about the legend, Yoyo became determined to find out more about the Divine Dragons and her role in the prophecy. Due to the Divine Dragons being spread far and wide across Obelus, she had common objectives with the Rebellion and Byuu.
