Wood Pink is a character from The Magic of Herself the Elf or The Special Magic of Herself the Elf. She is responsible for providing the colors of nature. She accompanies Meadow Morn, Willow Song, and Snow Drop to save Herself the Elf, and nature from being destroyed by Thorn and his daughter, Creeping Ivy. She was voiced by Susan Roman.
About Wood Pink[]
Wood Pink, along with Willow Song and Snow Drop, follow Meadow Morn as they fly through the forest looking for Herself, who has been missing for a year and a day. She doubts that they'll ever find her since it's been so long since she's been away and complains about the wind frizzing her hair. Willow Song agrees, but Meadow Morn and Snow Drop have more faith and tell them they can't give up now as there may still be a chance she'll be found, so they continue. They meet a male wood sprite named Wilfie and the elves introduce themselves to him. Wood Pink tells him who she is and says she's responsible for the colors of nature. She demonstrates this by using her wand to change the colors and patterns of a lavender and purple spotted worm (which appeared on Wilfie's head after Meadow Morn used her wand to make it appear) to thick, red and yellow stripes. After clearing up the confusion of whether or not Willow Song heard something, she confirms that she did. She hears Herself's voice, which is coming from a fortress made of bramble. Wood Pink comments on how it's just bramble and dust, and wonders what Herself would be doing in there. Nonetheless, she and the others go over there. Wilfie finds a door knob in the shape of a claw of an animal, turns it, and it opens. Herself is set free with the use of the elves' wands. She tells them her wand was confiscated by Thorn and that's why she was unable to magically set herself free. The next stop is at Thorn's Swamp, which is where Herself says they must go to next. Wood Pink and the other girls say together that Herself will need their help, and they get ahead of her.
Once they get there, Meadow Morn suggests to the others that they split up to search for the entrance to the castle. At a separate area of the swamp, Wood Pink comments on the creepiness of it when a spider drops down in front of her, scaring her out of her wits before the spider uses its spinnerets to pull itself back up and into a high log. Wood Pink decides to use her wand and says an incantation to change the spiders' colors from being dark to white so that she can see them first. After Meadow Morn, Willow Song, and Snow Drop have magical misfires with their wands, they all begin to argue and point fingers at one another. Wood Pink comes over to where they are, lecturing them on how a lady doesn't raise her voice before she shouts, and fusses on how she can hear them on the other side of the swamp. The three, other elves then suspect it was her. Herself and Wilfie arrive with the former insisting its her fault for not doing better at protecting nature. But adds they must work together to achieve their goal.
Following entering Thorn's castle via a twisted tree root, they soon find the entrance. Herself tells Wood Pink to go off to look for the missing wand and has Willow Song follow her. Wood Pink looks at herself in a mirror as she fixes her hair, complaining on how the swamp causes it to frizz. She sees a figure of a creature at the top of the mirror that also makes up the frame and is frightened by the sight of it, causing her to flee. Wood Pink tries returning to the others, but they've gone missing, and she wonders where they went. She sees a shadow approaching and goes off to hide. She tries using her wand to make herself invisible, but it doesn't last long, and Creeping Ivy spots her. Wood Pink tries shaking her wand to get it to work again, but it's no use, she calls for help as Creeping Ivy catches her. Soon, Creeping Ivy also captures Snow Drop, who is put in a cage with Wood Pink. Creeping Ivy tells them she's off to find their "nasty, little friends" and "See ya". Wood Pink says "maybe", while Snow Drop adds "And maybe not". Creeping Ivy instantly captures Meadow Morn and puts her in the cage with the others. Just as Thorn finds Herself and Wilfie attempting to get her wand back, Creeping Ivy brings three of the other elves in line behind her, pulling them with a rope as they follow. Thorn orders his vulture, Vendetta, to seize Herself, but she and the others prevent them from doing so. After reuniting with Willow Song, the five elves band together to use their wands on Thorn, Creeping Ivy, and Vendetta. The wands function normally again. Meadow Morn uses her wand to make Vendetta fall asleep and have fireflies enter the castle, Snow Drop uses hers to created a wind chill, and Willow Song uses hers to make Creeping Ivy's spider earrings come to life, playing happy music on violins. The music gets to Creeping Ivy so much, she bawls, and her tears cause vines to grow extremely long from her foliage attire. The vines stretch out the windows of the castle. Thorn is heard from the castle vowing they haven't seen the last of him. The girls and Wilfie are now outside and Herself says he hasn't seen the last of them and they'll be prepared next time. Later, Wood Pink and the other girls fly on their way to Herself's house for a victory party. Primping her hair once again, Wood Pink inquires if Wilfie will be there and Snow Drop tells her, "There's only one way to find out".
