The Inventor is a very minor character from Edward Scissorhands. He is a withery old man who created Edward many years ago, yet he died before he could finish the artificial man, leaving him with his surname Scissorhands.

- He was portrayed by Vincent Price, who also voiced Professor Ratigan in The Great Mouse Detective, and Zigzag in The Thief and the Cobbler.
- He is commonly mistaken as the main antagonist of the movie. However, Jim is the main antagonist since the Inventor only appears in flashbacks.
