The Conductor in The Polar Express (2004)

He is both voiced and motion-captured by veteran actor Tom Hanks.

Character design[]

The character is a Caucasian male and wears a blue suit and conductor hat with a white shirt underneath the blue suit with a black tie. He bears a strong resemblance to Hanks himself, most likely due to the motion-capture process.

He has the ability to punch tickets at a fast pace which provides some comic-relief to the movie.

The Conductor is very friendly, although he does tend to be strict at times when faced with a rushed schedule. He is initially hostile towards Hero Boy (the main boy in the movie) although they soon become nicer to each other and friendly. He appears to work for Santa Claus and the Polar Express seems to have its station in the North Pole. It is unknown if the Conductor lives in the North Pole.
