Terence Fletcher is the main antagonist of the 2014 psychological drama film Whiplash and the 2013 short film of the same name on which the film was based.
Fletcher is the villainous maestro of the prestigious Shaffer Conservatory jazz band. Despite his distinguished reputation, Fletcher is actually an abrasive, perfectionist, vulgar, and ruthless instructor who is capable of issuing severe physical and psychological abuse to students for even the most minuscule mistake.
