Suzanne is a character from the Merrie Melodies short, "A Kiddie's Kitty". She is Sylvester's temporary owner. She was voiced by Lucille Bliss.
About Suzanne[]
Suzanne has many toys that are strewn throughout the front yard. When her mother asks just how she can be so destructive, Suzanne says that she guesses "they just don't make dolls like they used to", then asks if she can have another doll. Her mom says not until she learns how to take better care of her toys and tells her to go off, and play. Suzanne hears a dog barking and a cat yowling. It's Sylvester being chased by a bulldog. Sylvester finds a fence door, which is the one to Suzanne and her mom's house, he opens it, and heads inside to seek refuge. Suzanne goes up behind Sylvester and gets his attention, unintentionally making him so jumpy he shoots up into a tree and has turned completely white with fear as he slides back down to the ground. As he turns back to his normal colors, Suzanne tells him not to be afraid and that she won't hurt him. She decides to adopt him as her new pet. As she carries, then drags him, she squeezes him too tightly around his neck and his face turns blue. She asks how his face got so blue and tells him he needs a bath. After the colors in Sylvester's face return to normal, he decides to turn back and head outside the fence, she grabs his tail, but he gets loose and some fur comes off in her hands. When Sylvester opens the fence door, he still finds the bulldog outside and closes the door back. Sylvester thinks better of it, decides to stay with Suzanne, and surrenders by handing her his tail, as she drags him by it. Suzanne takes Sylvester downstairs into the basement as she tells him they have to be quiet about him being in her home since she's not allowed to have cats. On the way down, she accidentally causes Sylvester to bump on each step. She decides to clean him up by putting him in a washing machine. Sylvester tries to flee, but Suzanne grabs him and forces him into it. As he resists, he tries desperately to grab on the outside with his claws, scratching it before being put in the washer. After going through the wash, spin, rinse, dry, and fluff dry cycles, the washer door opens and Sylvester floats out of it as a ball of fluff.
In the kitchen, Suzanne goes to the refrigerator to get a bottle of milk and pours it in a bowl for Sylvester to drink. He's in the middle of lapping it up when Suzanne's mom calls her and Suzanne hides the cat in the fridge. She takes his place lapping up the milk and acting like a cat. When her mom comes, she tells her to stop being silly. After her mom leaves, Suzanne opens the fridge and finds him frozen. Now entirely blue, Sylvester is wrapped up in an electric blanket, which she says will warm him. But she turns the temperature of it up too high, causing him to get too hot and turn red. He then rushes to a fan to cool off and turns back to his typical colors. In the yard again, Suzanne asks Sylvester if she'd like sardines and liver, and he excitedly says, "yeah!", a few times. When he sees the meal Suzanne brought him, he finds it nasty-looking and unappetizing. He begins to leave the yard again, but finds that the bulldog is still outside and decides he'll return to Suzanne and have his meal. He makes a disgusted face as her eats it and she tells him to make sure he eats all of it. Afterwards, Suzanne pushes Sylvester on a swing. But she pushes him high enough into a tree where the bulldog climbs and waits before attacking him. Suzanne leaves for a moment and returns wearing a nurse's hat and apron. She renders Sylvester with first aid by bandaging him. When she's done, Sylvester painfully removes the bandages and discards them. Following that, Suzanne and Sylvester, both with bloodshot eyes, finish watching a T.V. show called Captain Electronic in Outer Space. She looks at him and says she has an idea. Sylvester flees and hides under a couch, but she drags him out by his tail, insisting that they'll "have lots of fun". In the yard once more, she has him dressed as an astronaut and lights the fuse of a small rocket that's strapped behind him. But instead of launching him, the rocket flies up under his helmet and explodes, leaving his head and face burnt. He removes the helmet and puts out the tiny flame on his head by licking a couple of his fingers and dousing it with them. Deciding at this point he's had enough, he flees the yard once more. He passes Suzanne's mom, who asks her daughter where she got the cat. Suzanne convinces her to let him stay after asking if she can keep him. Suzanne's mom grants her permission, but mentions that she has to feed him, wash him, and give him medical care, which unbeknownst to her, Suzanne already did. Sylvester continues fleeing and exits the fence door. He finds the bulldog around a corner of the fence after he whistles to get the bulldog's attention, kicks him in the face, and the chase between the two resumes.
