Donkey Kong Country/Donkey Kong Country 2 (1994-1996) |
In Donkey Kong Country, Puftups weren't used in the game on any level. Hacking may allow them to view the sprites of the enemy. The enemy in the game has blue fins. Puftups were carried over to Donkey Kong Country 2 in a finalized version including the extra animations and everything else. They also swell like balloons in-order to block Diddy and Dixie from getting past them on some places. They can be dodged by getting around them. Unlike the red puftup, the green and blue puftups overflow and then pop with their spikes twirling around. |

Puftups don't explode right after being poked or overflowing. The puftups have more power with their spikes so that it can attack the Kongs. |

Donkey Kong 64 (1996-2000) |
After their absence from Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, the puftups appear in the Gloomy Galleon and Creepy Castle bosses. In Gloomy Galleon, they chase Lanky Kong after Puftoss was defeated three times. The coloring of the puftups appear in purple, they later appeared with red coloring. |

Banjo-Tooie (2000) |
The Puftups briefly became Swellbellies for the Banjo-Kazooie game "Banjo-Tooie". Puftup was refurbished with red coloring instead of the purple colors from the previous Nintendo 64 game "Donkey Kong 64". They are found in the level "Jolly Roger's Lagoon" in the underwater areas like Atlantis, Smuggler's Cavern, and Seabottom. The puftups can explode by using Kazooie's Talon Torpedo or by firing Grenade Eggs at the puftups. |

Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber (2008-2012) |
After eight years of absence from the Donkey Kong Country series, Puftups reappear in Donkey Kong Jungle Climber with newer looks of the pufferfish. They can only be defeated if they are deflated and charge attack is used. It be nice if Enguarde was in the game so that he can attack the puftups while they are inflated and they explode. |

The puftup's body has spots in different locations of the porcupine fish and has dodger blue color. The cornea is smaller and the iris is more bigger than the previous renditons of the entity. The puftups don't explode in the game, but they may deflate when hit by a weapon or bumped into by a racer. |
