Private Leonard Lawrence, AKA Gomer Pyle, or Private Pyle, is a character from Stanley Kubrick's war film Full Metal Jacket. He is a clumsy, dimwitted and overweight man who is always made fun of by Gunnery Sergeant Hartman for his incompetence. His rifle's name is Charlene. After being yelled at continually, he decided to shoot Hartman and attempted to kill Private Joker, but instead, he shot himself in his open mouth. He is played by actor Vincent D'Onofrio.
