]Mrs. Duffy is a character from the short, Hanna-Barbera TV pilot, Duffy's Dozen. She is the wife of Mr. Duffy and adoptive mother of twelve children. She was voiced by Janet Waldo.
About Mrs. Duffy[]
Mrs. Duffy and Mr. Duffy are introduced in the opening sequence, and it's mentioned that they adopted a child each year before eventually having twelve, as well as an old English sheepdog named Thirteen. The family has its challenges of sharing the camper where they live, like waiting for their turns to take showers and sleeping in the camper. They go traveling around the U.S., visiting the country's various landmarks.
While the Duffys are having corn cobs for lunch at Yellowstone Park, Jiro sees there isn't one left for him and he asks where it is. Mrs. Duffy laughs heartily along with Mr. Duffy after he simply jokes, "Termites". It's discovered that a bear is the one who took the corn cob, as well as devouring other foods it took from the camper, due to the oldest, adopted son, Alan, feeding it a cookie. The bear has one of its claws stuck in a hole of Mr. Duffy's bowling ball as it walks away with it. After Mr. Duffy points that out, he attempts to get it back. His wife begs him not to go due to the possible danger it can pose, but that doesn't scare him and he goes off anyway. Mrs. Duffy tells one of the other, adoptive sons, Corky, to get the park ranger and the other kids to come with her. When they head to where Mr. Duffy and the bear are, Mrs. Duffy tells Mr. Duffy to forget about his ball. But he refuses to leave his bowling ball behind and continues trying desperately to get it back. Mrs. Duffy comments on how he's so stubborn and the park ranger takes a shot at him, firing a tranquilizer dart to sedate him. Mrs. Duffy fears that the park ranger hurt her husband with the shot, but he insists that he didn't and that people need to be protected from wild animals before the wild animals get them. After the family returned to riding in their camper, Mr. Duffy sleeps it off while Mrs. Duffy drives.
