Major Arnold Ernst Toht is the secondary antagonist of the 1981 action-adventure film Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first installment of the Indiana Jones film series.
He was a sadistic and ruthless Nazi Gestapo agent. He is tasked to aid Colonel Herman Dietrich and Dr. René Belloq to find the Ark of the Covenant for Adolf Hitler, despite his skepticism.
