Little Red Riding Hood is Casper the Friendly Ghost's version of the fairy tale character from the short, "Once Upon a Rhyme". She meets and befriends Casper before he later comes to her rescue. She was voiced by Mae Questel.

About Little Red Riding Hood[]

Little Red Riding Hood is skipping along and singing on her way to her grandmother's house when she sees Casper sad and sitting on a log. She introduces herself to him and he does the same. Since she'd never seen him around before, she asks Casper what his rhyme is. He tells her he doesn't have one. She tells him she's on her way to visit her grandma. Casper cheers up when he sees she's not afraid of him for simply being a ghost. She says that they can make a game of it by playing Follow the Leader. Casper joins her and follows. Little Red Riding Hood walks across a log, but Casper enters one entrance of it and exits from the other end. She's impressed at how well he does at the game, but challenges him to make it passed a wall before she does. She climbs a ladder and goes over to the other side of the wall, but Casper walks through it. After she jumps down and finds he's already there, she's surprised and compliments on his skills again. Little Red Riding Hood and Casper race each other and come to two paths. She tells them they should split up and each take a different path, which they do. While Little Red Riding Hood continues down one path, she doesn't notice Wolfie the Wolf sticking his head out from behind a tree as he tells the viewers about her going to her Grandma's house, adding, "As if I didn't know". He rides off on his motorcycle and races passed Little Red Riding Hood, who still doesn't notice.

When Little Red Riding Hood arrives at her grandma's house's door, she knocks on it and lets her know it's her. She is unaware that Wolfie is there, disguised as her grandma. Wolfie tells her to enter and she does. Wolfie's arm is shown sticking out a window, hammering and boarding the exit to prevent Little Red Riding Hood's escape. When Little Red Riding Hood comments on her fake grandma's eyes, Wolfie says, "The better to see you with my dear", and they stretch out into binoculars. Then she says, "Grandma, what big teeth you have". Wolfie bears his sharp teeth before they sink up into his mouth and a knife, and fork, drop from his gums, and stick out in place of a couple front teeth. Little Red Riding Hood realizes Wolfie isn't her real grandma at that moment right away and Wolfie chases her around the room on his motorcycle in circles. While Casper continues walking, he hears Little Red Riding Hood's cries. He tells her he's on his way and zooms off like a jet. The chase continues with Little Red Riding Hood going under a rug as Wolfie follows, they move up from behind a wall, and into a picture. Little Red Riding Hood runs down the path in the picture and escapes it, and Wolfie follows. When Wolfie has her right where he wants her, he takes out a key and swallows it whole. Casper arrives just in time and tells him to leave her alone as she's his friend. The sight of Casper makes Wolfie jump out of his fur and clothes, and he flees as the pair of shorts he left behind follow. Later, a ceremony is held at a castle to honor Casper's heroism in front of a crowd and Mother Goose bestows upon him as an official member of Nursery Rhyme Land. Casper now has his own rhyme in the large Nursery Rhymes book and is featured. Little Red Riding Hood kisses him on the cheek and his whole body blushes red with modesty.
