Junior is a minor character from the Looney Tunes short, "A Waggily Tale". He is a nerdy boy and his dog, Elvis's owner. He was voiced by Daws Butler.

About Junior[]

Junior is a boy who mistreats his dog, Elvis. He tries pulling on his leash in determination to get him to do tricks, forces him to pull a wagon he's riding like a mule, and rides him like a horse while pretending to be a calvary soldier. Each time his mom comes out the house to tell Junior to stop doing something to Elvis, he replies with, "Alright, mama", before he looks at the viewers with a frown. But on the third time his mom comes out, she tells him he's tormented the dog enough and orders him to go to his room. As Junior is lying in his bed, his mom tells him he wouldn't like to be treated so meanly if he were a dog. He replies, "No, mama", then falls asleep. He has a dream that he is now a dog and in a pet shop with other dogs. After wondering where he is, he realizes and noting the ridiculousness of the situation, he goes to try to get the pet shop owner's attention. But all the owner can hear are Junior's barks. As Junior also realizes this, he also notices he has dog's feet and a tail. He laughs hysterically, then cries hysterically, then stops when he realizes all the benefits there are to being a dog, like no school. He prances along happily and says he'll just wait for someone to buy him and take him home. Suddenly, he notices a little girl looking at him in the display window, pants, and wags his tail happily. The little girl asks about Junior's cuteness and his "big, sad eyes", to her father, who decides that they should go inside the shop to purchase him. The father asks how much that dog in the window is and the owner asks, "You mean the one with the waggily tail?".

Afterwards, Junior is seen being carried by the little girl and tells the viewers because of that, he doesn't have to walk and says he likes it twice. When the little girl comes across a boy named Johnny, she greets him and asks how he likes her "new doggy". Johnny insults Junior, which displeases him and the little girl, then tries to steal him away from her. Junior is caught in a tug-of-war between the kids with the little girl grabbing Junior around the neck and Johnny grabbing him by the tail. The little girl doesn't see that she's strangling Junior, causing his face to turn blue, and he tries to get her attention by pointing at his neck. Johnny eventually releases Junior from the little girl's grip and runs off downstairs to tell some others it's "a dog with a blue face!". But the little girl goes after him, telling him to come back with her dog. She brings Junior back upstairs with her, emphasizing that he's her dog and she's going to carry him.

Later, another boy named Melvin, who has a dog of his own named Spike, insults the little girl by telling her she's funny looking, wears silly clothes, and that his dog can lick hers. She argues, "He cannot!". Junior turns to the viewers and asks, "Is he kidding?". Melvin releases Spike from his leash, tells him to sic Junior, and Spike attacks. Following that, Junior and the little girl are at home while she bandages his wounds. She asks if he feels better lovingly before he slinks away. Junior slowly but painfully removes the bandages and regretting about living life as a dog, he laments, and whines he doesn't want to be one anymore. The little girl approaches him and tells him it's time for his bath. He tries to run away, but she grabs him and puts him in a washing machine after he struggles to resist some. After going through all the cycles of the washing machine, it's done and he emerges from it as a floating fluff ball. Once that's done, the little girl tells him he's "all nice and clean", except that she hasn't brush his teeth. Deciding he's had it, Junior tries to flee and escape, but the little girl gets ahead of him, blocking his exit. She tells him to wait while she gets the tooth paste. She finds the tube, but instead of toothpaste, it's really soap, which she can't read and presumes it's really the toothpaste. She returns, tells him to open his mouth, and brushes his teeth with the soap. Junior spits out the soap and runs outside when a couple women believe he's a mad dog because of the soap suds around his mouth, and they scream in reaction to him, one of them hits him with a broom. There's a chaos and a commotion in the streets.

Junior ends up in a dog pound cell and another dog in another cell plays a harmonica. Looking at the green dog, Junior wonders just what's behind it. Junior then protests to be let out and that he no longer wishes to be a dog as he grabs, and shakes the bars. The scene switches back to Junior as his normal self, in his room, grabbing and shaking the bars of the foot end of his bed. He comes to the realization that it was all a dream. Having a whole, new outlook on a dog's life, Junior approaches Elvis, hugs him, tells him about the experience he's had, and tells him he's going to be a better owner by treating him good. Elvis turns to the viewers, saying he doesn't mind as he claims he's not a real dog either and that he's also really a boy having a dream.

Physical Appearance[]

As a human, Junior is a skinny, nerdy boy with fair skin, little black hair on top of his head, and black eyes. He wears round glasses with black frames; a white, long-sleeved shirt with folded collar; a green bow tie; coffee brown shorts; brown socks; and black shoes.

As a dog, he is slim and has mostly white fur with long, black ears, nose, and skinny tail. He wears a red collar.
