~ Jokichi Yudasei |
Jokichi Yudasei (Jokichi Aishi in 202X mode) is a character in the video game Yandere Simulator. He is the love interest of Ryoba Aishi in 1980s mode, and is her husband in 202X mode. He is also Ayano Aishi's father.
He is described as charming and flirtatious, and is popular with the ladies. However, he has zero experience with love.
Etymology[]
His forename Jokichi is a combination of "Jo-", which could be written as 譲 (to transfer, convey) or 丈 (length, height), and "-Kichi" which is written as 吉 which means "fortune".
His surname "Yudasei" has unclear meanings.
Appearance[]
In 1980s mode, Jokichi has gray eyes, pale skin, and black hair. His left eye is covered by his bangs, and there are two strands of hair that poke out the left side of his head, but otherwise he is completely average.
He wears a dark brown and red variant of the Japanese-style male secondary school uniform, and his trousers are white. He also wears black school shoes.
Personality[]
In 1980s mode, Jokichi is charming and social, and is popular with the girls, as evidenced with him having twelve girls fall in love with him. But actually, he has never had any experience with love. He is kind to every person he meets, especially the girls. However, he values money and looks, which explains why he would accept Ritsuko's confession, and he fact that he likes gravure idols and fawns over Chigusa.
However, his personality has drastically changed in 202X mode. He is constantly in fear of Ryoba and depressed, especially after finding out that Ayano was apathetic. He has become a shell of his former self after being kidnapped by Ryoba and threatened at knifepoint.
History[]
Jokichi was born in 1971, and attended Akademi High. However, nothing else is known about his early life, other than the fact that he likes gravure idols.
In his third year, he was kidnapped by Ryoba Aishi, and when tied up in her basement, he learned that there were actually many girls who were in love with him, but got eliminated by Ryoba in order for them to be together.
He was kept in the basement until Ryoba was sure that he wouldn't run away from her, and then they started dating and eventually got married. He took her last name. When he was 33, he fathered Ayano.
After Ayano was born, Jokichi made Ryoba swear to never tell Ayano of her past crimes, and Ryoba stuck to her promise. He was very concerned when he found out that Ayano was emotionless, and even argued with Ryoba about it when he is usually too scared of her to object to anything she says. However, after Ayano started acting "normal", he seemingly did not worry about her as much anymore.
Shortly before the start of 202X mode, Ryoba and Jokichi left for America on short notice.
Relationships[]
Ryoba Aishi[]
He didn't remember ever meeting Ryoba until she kidnapped him, but he hadn't thought of her as anything harmful until he got kidnapped by her.
After being with Ryoba for so long, Jokichi has somewhat developed feelings for her and feels some affection for her, but he is still extremely scared of her. He jumps whenever he doesn't notice Ryoba enter the room, and he quickly gets quiet when they have the smallest disagreement, in fear that his wife will harm him. However, he would argue with her over their daughter Ayano's wellbeing.
Ayano Aishi[]
He loves his daughter just as any father would, as shown in how concerned he is over her emotionless condition, even willing to argue with Ryoba about it. After Ayano started acting "normal", he stopped being overly concerned about her. However, he doesn't know that Ayano is indifferent towards him.
The rivals[]
He was friendly to most rivals, although his dynamic with each of them are slightly different.
- Sumire Saitozaki: They appear to not have been friends for long, as Sumire was killed quite soon after Ryoba discovered her crush. It is unclear whether they have been interacting for long before Sumire has been killed, so Jokichi might not have felt a strong sense of loss over her death.
- Kaguya Wakaizumi: They have been normal friends until Ryoba started sabotaging their interactions. Therefore, Jokichi may not like Kaguya, and they have been avoiding each other after her rejection. However, Jokichi may have found out that their interactions were actually sabotaged by Ryoba, so he might not hate her that much afterwards. They have not kept in contact.
- Moeko Rakuyona: They were normal friends, and Jokichi was quite casual with her, since she was always more comfortable hanging around boys. However, Moeko was burnt to death, so Jokichi was deeply saddened by the loss of his friend after she died.
- Honami Hodoshima: Jokichi and Honami were friends, and he usually guided their conversations, since Honami is very shy. However, she died after being crushed by a bookcase "on accident", so Jokichi was deeply saddened by the loss of his friend after she died.
- Sumiko Tachibana: They were friends, but Jokichi was always a bit reluctant to hang out with Sumiko, since she was always telling him how to keep fit, although overall he didn't mind her behavior. However, Sumiko was poisoned to death by her own bento, so Jokichi was deeply saddened by the loss of his friend after she died.
- Ritsuko Chikanari: Jokichi and Ritsuko seemed to be friends, but their dynamic resembled something else entirely. He was always getting cut off mid-sentence by Ritsuko, and she would always force money and expensive things onto him, but he never complained because he likes money and doesn't mind being spoiled by Ritsuko like that. However, Ritsuko was drowned in the school pool while she was sunbathing, so Jokichi was saddened by the loss of his friend after she died.
- Ai Doruyashi: Jokichi seemed a bit unfriendly or scared towards Ai at first, possibly because she was an idol with a presence in school. However, he warmed up to her eventually, especially after listening to the cassette tape of her song and complimenting her on it. However, Ai was electrocuted to death while she was performing on stage, so Jokichi was deeply saddened by the loss of his friend after she died.
- Teiko Nabatashi: Jokichi at first fawned over Teiko a bit, maybe because she was popular or maybe because he thought that he could take advantage of her smarts, but their friendship seemed to become more genuine throughout the week. They bonded over their love for reading. However, Teiko was expelled at the end of the week for bringing contraband into school and stealing, so Jokichi's impression of her may have been damaged after she was expelled.
- Komako Funakoshi: Jokichi was very kind to Komako, since she was very popular at school. He seemed to treasure all their interactions, even though sometimes her formality rubbed Jokichi the wrong way. However, Komako left Akademi after her reputation became really bad, so Jokichi may have eventually believed the rumors of her and started disliking her, as he is social and somewhat cared about his social standing.
- Chigusa Busujima: Jokichi was head over heels for Chigusa, and stuttered a lot while talking to her. He didn't think that Chigusa would even talk to someone like him, since he was a massive fan of her and saw her as some type of celebrity. It was obvious that his intentions with her were not pure, as suggested with the "raunchy" magazine that Chigusa gifted him and got a positive reaction out of him. They may have still remained close, but this wasn't likely as Chigusa quit her idol career after being in a relationship with Etsuji Odaka, and they don't seem to have interacted after her week.
- Sonoko Sakanoue: Jokichi was highly suspicious of Sonoko, as she insisted on tailing him for the entire week, making him uncomfortable. They never really got much closer afterwards, even if Ryoba didn't sabotage their interactions. However, Sonoko ended up being friends with Ryoba, so Jokichi might have seen her for a bit after the events of 1980s mode.
His sister[]
He never really mentions his sister, but his sister gave him a book once, and if a rival had lost the book, he would say that book was irreplaceable, showing that he does love her. In 202X mode, Jokichi's family visits occasionally, which would include his sister, so they are still on good terms.
