Jay Duffy is a character from the short, Hanna-Barbera, TV pilot, Duffy's Dozen. He is amongst the seven boys, twelve kids in their entirety, adopted by Mr. Duffy and Mr. Duffy.
About Jay[]
Jay is the last of the Duffy kids mentioned in the introduction and he's shown to be next to their pet dog, Thirteen. Since they're always going from place to place in a camper, that is where they stay. Despite the challenges of 14 people and a dog sharing the vehicle where they live, they still manage to make things like each waiting for his/her turn to shower, and sleeping in the same vehicle, work out well. They go on trips all over the U.S. to visit and see the country's landmarks.
Jay and the others are having corn cobs for lunch while visiting Yellowstone Park. They notice a bear coming out off their vehicle, taking and eating an entire cake, and walking off with a bowling ball, which happens to belong to Mr. Duffy, its claw stuck in one of the holes. As Mr. Duffy is determined to take his ball back and the others fear he may be in danger, Mrs. Duffy instructs Corky to get the park ranger while the other kids join her, she prods Jay to go ahead of her while she pulls Jiro and carries along behind her. While Mr. Duffy continues to try in vain to remove his ball from the dormant bear's grasp, Jay and the other Duffys hurry towards them with a stretcher and first aid. The park ranger comes too, setting his sights on Mr. Duffy, firing a sedation dart into him, and making him soporific. Once the task of having the ball returned is accomplished, Jay and the other Duffys are riding off on the road again.
