Humanoid is a basic term that denotes any lifeform, either natural or artificial, which has a body plan similar to that of a Human being or which shares enough common characteristics with Humans, as of external appearance, to be considered similar, if only on a superficial level. This term appeared in 1912. The fossils which were morphologically similar to, but not identical with, those of the human skeleton inside and outside of their bodies.
