~ Homophobic Anime Girl telling LGBT Girl she does not support the LGBT community.

Homophobic Anime Girl is from the MinuteVideos video on YouTube called "Is it Wrong to Disagree With LGBT?" (also known as "My friend told everyone I don't support the LGBT" or "I Was Bullied For My Opinion").

Role in the video[]

At the end of the day, Homophobic Anime Girl is at the bus stop with her friend, LGBT girl who begins asking her arbitrary questions. Her friend asked her if she heard of the LGBT community to which she replied that she had. Her friend then asked her if she supported the LGBT community, like gays or lesbians. She didn't know whether to give her honest opinion or lie. She decides to simply say "no". She saw her friend's awkward response and went on her bus. That night, she kept thinking about that moment and wondered why her friend looked as if she was hiding something and if she was a bad person for not supporting the LGBT community. Thinking about that moment kept her awake all night until she fell asleep thinking that it was a harmless question and that it would be forgotten the next day.

The next day at school, everyone acted hostile towards her and shunned her, and she was confronted by LGBT Girl, who revealed she did not want to be friends with someone who doesn't support the LGBT community. Everyone else in the school took her side. She went to the bathroom and cried so hard and so loud that someone in the next stall told her to shut up. She felt ashamed for not supporting the LGBT community and hated herself for not saying that she did when her friend asked. For the rest of the day, people mocked her and called her a homophobe. She tried to explain it was her personal preference to not support the LGBT community, which means she didn't actually hate people who are gay or lesbian.

She decides to tell her parents, fearing they may be angry with her for not supporting the LGBT community. When she does, to her delight, they aren’t angry. Her parents tell her that there is nothing wrong with having different opinions about certain topics like sexuality, religion, and politics. They tell her that it's okay to not support them as long as she is nice about it. However, her old friends did not want to enable this attitude and still avoided her at school which made her sad, alienated and alone. Everyday she would come home and cry. She started getting bad grades, so the headmaster called her parents for a meeting, which scared her, thinking her parents would be mad that her grades were failing. They decided for her to change schools so she could start over.

A year later, she gained new friends with different opinions. She claims to still have the same views but regrets on how short she was with her answer when LGBT girl asked her if she supported the LGBT community. She says that if someone doesn't agree with someone they can still be friends or at least be respectful. She also says that saying mean things to people is bullying and even if someone looks fine they could be internally hurting.
