Hildy Duffy is a character from the short, Hanna-Barbera TV pilot, Duffy's Dozen. She is one of twelve children adopted by Mr. Duffy and Mrs. Duffy. She was voiced by Janet Waldo.
About Hildy[]
Hildy is among the members of the adoptive family named and introduced in the opening sequence. It is mentioned how the family go through challenges of living in a camper, like how each of the members waits to take showers and sleeping in the vehicle. She and the others go sightseeing around the U.S., visiting various, renowned landmarks.
Hildy and the others are having corn cobs for lunch while visiting Yellowstone Park. When the youngest, adopted son, Jiro, doesn't get his corn cob, it's found that a bear had eaten it after getting into the camper to steal food and the oldest, adopted son, Alan, gave the bear a cookie. When Mr. Duffy sees the bruin has his bowling ball, he wants to get it back. But his wife doesn't believe that's such a wise thing to do and Hildy agrees, adding that any wild animal is unpredictable, especially following hibernation. Mr. Duffy doesn't listen to them and runs off after the bear, and his ball, regardless. Mrs. Duffy tells one of the other, adopted kids, Corky, to get the park ranger while Hildy and the other kids follow Mrs. Duffy. Hildy and the other Duffys rush over to where Mr. Duffy and the bear is, carrying a wheelless body stretcher and Hildy brings the first aid kit, just in case. She and everybody else watch the park ranger shoot Mr. Duffy to sedate him with a tranquilizer dart. Afterwards, Hildy and the others ride in the camper once again while Mr. Duffy rests, and Mrs. Duffy drives.
