Trivia[]
- Go-Go Gomez appears in a total of 35 episodes, replacing the spot of Heap O'Calorie who makes his last appearance in "Big Bank Bungle".
- Go-Go Gomez leads the cases in all of the episodes he appears in except in "Tacos Tangle", where Joe Jitsu travels to Mexico for vacation.
- Go-Go Gomez has been criticized as a racist stereotype due to his appearance, accent, and frequent napping. He, along with Joe Jitsu, created controversy when The Dick Tracy Show was resyndicated during the promotion of the 1990 Warren Beatty Dick Tracy film. This resulted in some stations either removing the series entirely or removing only the episodes with Joe Jitsu and Go-Go Gomez and thus leaving only the episodes with Hemlock Holmes and Heap O'Calorie.
- Despite his stereotypical traits, he is shown to be intelligent and capable at his job unlike Hemlock Holmes, The Retouchables, and Heap O'Calorie who only solve their cases out of dumb luck.
- Go-Go Gomez made his first appearances in the 1960 Mr. Magoo episodes "Requiem for a Bull" and "Fuel in the Sun", one year prior to the debut of The Dick Tracy Show. He was voiced by Mel Blanc in the episodes, but was voiced by Paul Frees in his later appearances.
- Go-Go Gomez is known as Pronto Gomez in the Spanish dub, and his full name is Manuel Rodriguez Garza Gonzalez Gomez y Gomez.
- In the Dick Tracy Little Golden Book, Go-Go Gomez is illustrated wearing a blue poncho with a white collar and black strings.
