The Funny Lady is a recurring character in the original Teletubbies series. She often appears in the TV Events that the Teletubbies watch on their screens. She is a kind woman who tells stories.
She first appeared in the fourth episode of the show, "Naughty Sock." She appeared in 14 episodes in total. In 2007, an illustrated version of the Funny Lady also appeared in pictures and games for the tenth anniversary of Teletubbies. This would end up being the Funny Lady's last appearance, since she did not return for the reboot series of Teletubbies in 2015.

The Funny Lady is commonly seen as part of the TV Events that appear on the Teletubbies' screens. Her segments are set in an outdoor park, where she sits in an over-sized chair with her teddy bear Teddy. In her segments, she tells stories to a group of children who come to visit her. The stories usually involve a toy or object. At the end of her stories, she gives imaginary tea and biscuits to the children, and then they all wave goodbye.
