Edgar is a carnie apprentice from Monster Carnival Island. He plays a major role in the island.
Storyline[]
You first encounter Edgar on Main Street. He tells you that the carnival is not ready and asks for your help. You must help all the carnies get the carnival ready before it opens. Afterwards, the carnies will head off into the woods and, hypnotized by a mysterious hooded figure, inexplicably transform into monsters. Edgar will ask you for help and brings you to Ringmaster Raven, who informs you on how to get the cure. You must retrieve a slip of paper from the pocket of the man at the Ferris Wheel and then get a black lightbulb from the Haunted Lab and use it in your flashlight. Using this at the rubber duck booth will reveal that the ducks are painted in different colors. Pick them up in the order Green, Orange, Red, Yellow. This will reveal a secret formula for a cure. After you finish the cure, Edgar will bring you back to the ringmaster's tent where it is revealed that he is under the ringmaster's mind control. He straps you to a chair and prepares to transform you into a monster. You must wake him up with the Fried Dough you got earlier. He will then free you and you proceed to chase down Ringmaster Raven and defeat him. After this, he thanks you and leaves town with the other carnies, but before he does so, he gives you the medallion.

Personality[]
Edgar is friendly to you. Edgar has a hard time handling things on his own, as the Ringmaster sent him into town to retrieve items for the carnival, but either Edgar forgot what to get, or he didn't know how to do it. He also asks for help when his friends turn into monsters. He really loves fried dough. He follows the rules of the carnival, except when he runs off to get food. Edgar trusts the Ringmaster, but after Raven's plan was revealed he wanted to stop him. He spray-painted "I want fried dough" on the hill. Edgar is a friendly and trusting individual who has difficulty handling things on his own. He is often forgetful and easily overwhelmed, which has led to him making mistakes such as forgetting what the Ringmaster asked him to get from town or not knowing how to complete a task. He also tends to ask for help when his friends are in trouble, even if he is capable of handling the situation himself.
Edgar has a strong love of fried dough, and he will often go out of his way to get it. He is also a rule follower, except when it comes to getting food. Despite his flaws, Edgar is a loyal and caring friend who is always willing to help others.
Trivia[]
- Edgar may have been named after Edgar Allen Poe, who is most famous for his poem The Raven. This is supported by the fact that the main antagonist of the Monster Carnival uses the raven's image as an emblem of sorts, even adapting 'Ringmaster Raven' as his stage name.
- Edgar is the only carnie who is never seen in monster form.
- It is theorized that the Food Stand Worker is his mom, as they share a resemblance.
- He works the Pop the Balloon! game.
- Edgar is unaware why the balloons on his game don't pop. All of the other carnival games are rigged, meaning he isn't aware the carnival is a scam. He could've been lying, though.
- Although Edgar is a child, he was allowed to run the carnival in the end. Although children in Poptropica are allowed to do adult things, so this might be normal.
- He loves fried dough.
- Ringmaster Raven could've adopted Edgar, since Edgar's parents aren't known.
- According to Mitch Krpata, Edgar is an orphan/runaway, meaning he has no parents. He ran away to the carnival.
