Dad (The Shy Stegosaurus of Cricket Creek)

Dad is a character from the CBS Storybreak episode, "The Shy Stegosaurus of Cricket Creek". He is Joan and Joey's father and their mother's husband. He is an paleontologist who often mentions, "Details, details", when looking over fossils.

About Dad

Dad is in the midst of observing and studying a fossil when Joan and Joey arrive in the same area where they find him. Joan asks him if what he's doing is really that important. However, he's so busy and deep in thought with the examination, he doesn't even notice she brought him his lunch bag. He tells her that even right down to the smallest detail, it's significant to him. When she asks him, "Even lunch?", he realizes she has his lunch and takes it. Joey asks how he's doing with the search and his dad tells him he hasn't had much success. It's mentioned that they might have to move again if he still can't find anything. Joey, having gotten attached to their current home tells him he'd rather not move again, but Joan cuts him off before he could finish what he was saying. Joan tells dad that they'll get going somewhere else. The kids and their dad wave goodbye to each other. They continue on their way while he resumes his examinations.

Later, Dad reappears after Joey and a pair of policemen arrive at the paleontological site and they explain to him a robbery that took place. He accompanies them in the police car and they ride while searching for the bank robbers. After he and the others eventually find them, the cops take the robbers into custody. He finds Joan and asks her if she's alright when he steps on a gum wad. Dad then finds a stegosaur tooth, which belongs to George, who went off into hiding, stuck in it and he's amazed by this. He says he'll contact everyone involved in paleontology. Joan and Joey are glad, and satisfied, that they won't have to move away again after all.

Physical Appearance

Dad is a well-built man with fair skin, auburn hair, and black, beady eyes. He wears square glasses with a black frame, matching handles, and light turquoise lenses. He wears a forest green cap with a matching turtleneck shirt; a Chelsea gray jacket with folded collar; light gray pants; and dark brown boots with light brown cuffs at the top.

Personality

Dad is very meticulous, studious, and observant when it comes to examining prehistoric remains. Because of this, he also tends to get distracted and is forgetful about other things easily. He takes fossil examinations very seriously.
