The Clown (Charles) killed a woman after she refused his marriage proposal. The murder was witnessed by another, and was promptly killed too. Tormented with grief, and yet wanting the last laugh, Charles made up his victim's faces as clowns. When he was in pursuit by the Hangman, he ran up the ladder inside the Big Top tent, overcome by dizziness he slipped and fell to his death (from Hangman Special Case No. 2).
