Chris Chambers is the deuteragonist of the 1986 film Stand by Me. He has a family of alcoholics and rejects and is labelled as one, but he attempts to break that tradition and hopes to go to college with Gordiesomeday. He is the leader of his group. His older brother is "Eyeball," the right-hand man of local bully "Ace" Merrill. He is portrayed by the late River Phoenix. As an adult, he was a lawyer and attempted to break up a fight in a fast-food restaurant, only to get stabbed and die.
