Chandler Muriel Bing is a fictional character and one of six main characters in the American sitcom, Friends. He is portrayed by Matthew Perry, and stars in 236 episodes, to date. He first appeared in episode 1, "The Pilot" and last appeared in episode 236, "The Last One, Part 2".[citation needed]
Described as the sarcastic friend, Chandler Bing often misuses his words and secrets about his friends are often mistakenly exposed. However, he covers up his story through his humor and behavior. Bing is terrified of the ideologies behind marriage, and the only reason Chandler believes anyone should get married is pregnancy.
Chandler's misuse of words has often been seen through his relationships between Janice, and later Monica. In one episode, Chandler proclaims that if Monica rolls an eight, they would get married that night, in Las Vegas.[citation needed] To their relief, they do not get married, but are rather shocked about the ideas of Rachel and Ross getting married.
History
Born in 1968, Bing grew up in a dysfunctional family. He grew up to his erotic novelist mother, Nora Tyler Bing, and a transgender drag queen father, Charles Bing. As an only child, Chandler Bing had a troubled relationship with his parents, due to all of the embarrassment he would get.
