Carol is a character from the ABC Afterschool Special, "The Magic Mystery Trip Through Little Red's Head". She is the sister of Little Red and Larry. She and her brother take a tour in Little Red's mind with Timer. She was voiced by Diane Murphy.

About Carol[]

Carol comes out of her room sleepily as Larry wakes her up after knocking on her door. He asks if she's ready and she asks for what. He says to follow Little Red to see where she's going, which is later revealed to be her grandma's house. Carol isn't so sure about it as she's scared and doesn't think they should as she doesn't want to disobey their mom. Larry says he is too, but doesn't feel it's fair that Little Red gets to go to exciting places simply because she's older. Suddenly, the two siblings hear a voice saying they should see the exciting places he visits. They're surprised, thinking that each of them said something, but each denies it. After asking who said that, the voice says "I did!". The voice says he's on Little Red's pillow and to just look at it where they'll find him. The voice belongs to a tiny being named Timer who tells the kids he knows all about Little Red and that they should venture into her head. But Carol isn't interested as she's afraid of visiting new places that are unfamiliar to her and meeting new people as Larry explains. Then, she asks that even if she did, how that could be possible. Timer shows them by magically having them shrunk down to his size. After they've been miniaturized, they're literally in Little Red's hair. Then, Timer has them swept away and they're frightened of just what is happening. Carol ends up getting separated from Larry and Timer, and calls for them. She mentions how she feels about being left alone and that Larry knows that. Carol then falls until she gets caught on a branch-like object. Noticing a pair of somebodies coming out from behind one thing, thinking they're Larry and Timer, she tells them she's glad to see them. But they're actually conjoined twins named I'm and Me, collectively known as Choice, who introduce themselves to her. At first, Carol thinks she's just dreaming but realizes it's not a dream when she's told she really is in Little Red's mind. The two heads explain that they represent the decisions that Little Red must make through song, like whatever one head is feeling at the moment, the other is the opposite. After Carol gets down, she asks them if they've seen Timer and her brother. They tell her just where they are and she thanks them for it before they leave. Carol manages to meet up with Timer again. Although Carol is afraid of the dark, Timer tells her that she's not the only one as Little Red shares that sentiment. He whispers a couple things in her ear about that, including her parents fearing darkness as well. He says there are some other people who are afraid of the dark too, but talking about it is the best way to feel better and more comforted about it. Carol is surprised to hear this, but also glad to know she's not alone in that. Timer's inner clock goes off and he tells her they must get going right away.

Carol and Timer meet up with Larry again, and they find him in the part of Little Red's mind that has to do with sight. The kids meet Irvin C. All, a.k.a. I.C., and his assistant, See-More. I.C. explains that he and See-More are responsible for all the things that are shown to Little Red, whose eyes are the screens or monitors. With everything she sees, a pic is taken of that object, which represents the photographic memories. Following that, in a ship, they travel to the part of Little Red's mind where her feelings are colored. Carol and Larry meet Squirter, who is responsible for running a console that squirts the paint on her feelings. Her four, other senses, hearing, smelling, tasting, and touching, are mentioned with the actions shown as well. Squirter says that whenever anger is felt, the best way to get rid of that is letting off steam or drawing a picture. He draws a funny-looking picture of Timer and everyone has a laugh. When it's time to head off again, Carol and Larry return to Little Red's hair. By this point, Little Red is headed off to her grandma's house. Her mom asks her if she's sure she doesn't want her little siblings accompanying her and she declines. Little does she know, her little siblings are on her head, saying, "Well, we're going anyway!". Timer tells the kids he has to go but he'll be right back before he vanishes. The kids call for him to come back, but then he reappears as Carol and Larry meet a singing group called The Big D. All of a sudden a gust of wind blows along and takes away Larry down into a crater. Carol calls for him and she wants to save him, but she's too daunted. Carol and Timer enter the crater, and they get swept away too. When they exit from another crater, The Big D explain to Carol that was the Dream-Stream Wind and that Larry was taken away to the Palace of Dreams. That is where Carol and Timer go next, and they reunite with Larry once again. Carol and Larry meet Diana, who is responsible for the dreams that are conceived in Little Red's subconscious. It's mentioned that this is where her dreams are stored and that everyone can see his, or her, own dreams. Carol would rather not see her own dreams, because she has nightmares more often than not. She talks about a recurring bad dream she has where she jumps on a trampoline, then flies, then falls, how she ends up getting lost in a dark void, and chased by a giant monster. Timer tells her that talking about her nightmares and how they made her feel to her parents or someone else she trusts will ease her fears. Then, Timer tells the two they must hurry off before the Dream-Stream Wind returns, as its reappearances are unpredictable and random. Surely enough, that's exactly what happens and Larry gets carried off by the wind again. Carol wants to come to his aid, but lacks the courage. After thinking about it for a moment, she and Timer come to Larry's aid, and pull him out of the Dream-Stream Wind. After she finds the courage, Timer tells her he knew she could do it. Larry says it's all thanks to his sister as she shies away modestly, then they have another laugh.

Carol, Larry, and Timer enter another part of Little Red's mind where the former two meet Col. Fritz von Neuron. When Timer mentions that they're Little Red's siblings, the colonel is happy to learn about this and each sibling is held tightly in each of his arms. Timer tells him the kids may want to return home, but Carol says that's alright as they can stay longer while they're there. Adeline is the last one they meet in Little Red's mind. It's explained that she's responsible for loading the adrenals that function the adrenaline and cause reactions. After Little Red arrives at her grandma's house and it's revealed that it's not really her grandma, but actually the wolf disguised as her grandma, Little Red panics and flees as the wolf tries to catch her. As the others in the part of Little Red's mind that involves the adrenals panic as well, running around frantically, Carol wonders why they're all acting so weirdly. It's because Adeline stopped loading the adrenals and she freezes up as a result. Carol tells them to stop for a moment and take a breath to calm themselves. That's just what everyone does. Carol knows exactly what to do. She gets on a phone with the colonel and tells him to have Little Red use her karate moves on the wolf. The button for that is pressed and the adrenals are loaded again. Little Red soon becomes cool, calm, and collected, fending off the wolf with karate moves, and he's defeated. Everybody cheers at the victory. Carol, Larry, Timer, and everyone the siblings met in Little Red's mind then sing about talking things out whenever something is bothersome. The former three are on the last stop of their tour and Timer is sentimental that the time has come for them to bid farewell to each other. Carol and Larry get sentimental as well, and she tells Timer they'll miss him. They tell Timer they had a fun time, Timer kisses Carol's hand and she bats her eyes. As the kids make their exit and say their goodbyes to Timer, he reminds them that saying whatever is on their minds is the best solution to feel better. He then has them magically transported out of Little Red's head and they're carried away by the Dream-Stream Wind once more. Carol and Larry now have a renewed understanding about their big sister. They're back in front of their house when Little Red returns home as well, and they greet each other. The three siblings then head inside their house where the little siblings tell her all about their adventure.
