Carl was the top racer at the Fast Track Race Academy. He raced, studied, and strategized with Lightning McQueen. Only the top five racers in the academy got a sponsorship deal, so Carl and Lightning planned and plotted how to get those spots. Carl loved the sport just as much as Lightning.
