The Boq was a Sasquatch-like creature, believed to reside in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States of America.
History[]
As with most Native American monsters and cryptids, the Boq and its history are specific to one tribe, which in this case is the Chinook people of the Pacific Northwest.
It is unknown if the Boq began life as a human being, and were perverted by some form of dark magic, or if they are perhaps an entirely different species.
They appear similar in physiology to the Sasquatch and Bigfoot entities described by other Native American tribes; in that they are much larger and more powerfully built then the average human being.
But the Boq differs from descriptions of similar cryptids, in its heightened level of aggression.
Whereas the Sasquatch is believed to be a reclusive creature, that will only fight in order to defend its territory, the Boq seeks out direct confrontation with other species.
Those who have encountered a Boq and lived to survive it, report that it seems to possess the supernatural power to hide itself from a person's direct line of sight, until it is too late for the victim to defend themselves.
Washington State[]
In February of 1928, the inhabitants of a remote Chinook village reported that two brothers who were visiting the settlement, Alexander Greywolf and Johnny Greywolf, had come across a canoe containing the torn and dismembered remains of an unknown hunter.
After examining the body of the victim, the local medicine man formed the belief that it was a Boq that had been responsible for the man's death.
A warband was then formed, under the command of a World War I veteran named Henry Swiftwater, who allowed Alexander Greywolf to accompany him and his men.
The group encountered the monster, not far from their settlement, which was able to use its powers to approach them undetected.
It managed to kill several of the hunters, before Greywolf discovered that medicine shields that had been provided for the group allowed the holder to see the creature.
By using these, and the traditional weapons they had been furnished with, the warband was able to kill the Boq.
The decision was then made to bind its body to a tree, as a warning to any others of its kind that ventured too close.
