Baltard originally appeared in Sungold's 1983 knock-off of the Masters of The Universe, the Galaxy Warriors. He was inspired by the Frank Frazetta artwork, "The Swamp Demon". The YouTuber, Phelan Porteous, made many videos containing Baltard in his Bootleg Zones series, which is a big reason Baltard has a fan base today. In 2024 Formo Toys announced they would be reviving the Galaxy Warriors in their new toyline "Warriors of The Galaxy", which Baltard was in.
Baltard is depicted as the "Unstoppable Creator of Chaos" in the Warriors of The Galaxy, but as the "Biggest Loser on Planet Ferror" in Bootleg Zones. Baltard's half-brother Batoon is often in Galaxy Fighters raids with others.
