Anitra is a character from the Mel-O-Toons episode, "Peer Gynt's Adventures in Arabia". She is a dancer, con artist, and a thief.
About Anitra[]
Anitra is who Peer Gynt meets after he arrives in Arabia. She talks him into burglarizing the home of a merchant named Al-Ahmad. After he agrees to it, when nightfall comes, they enter the house through an upstairs window. Once inside, they take their loot, which consists of money and jewelry. Despite knowing that this isn't the way to go about getting what he wants and not believing he'll ever get caught, and certain that he'll get away with it, Peer just can't resist in committing the theft, giving into temptation. After getting what they came for, Anitra gets him to look across the desert for something. When he turns around, she doesn't stick around for much longer, as she takes off on a horse, deserting him. She was just taking advantage of Peer the whole time. Peer is left stranded and wandering through the desert. He eventually finds Anitra, but she has been held captive by some men who have taken the money and jewelry she stole, and make her dance for their entertainment. After witnessing this, Peer continues to go off on his own once again, trying to exit the place.
