Aesop's Mother is a character from Toei Animation's Manga Aesop's Fables film (Manga Isoppu Monogatari in Japanese). She is Aesop's overwhelmed, maternal parent.
About Aesop's Mother[]
Aesop's mother is informed by a few of the other villagers about all the havoc that her son has caused. She tells them that she'll be sure to discipline him when he returns. She goes out the house looking around for him, telling him she knows where he's hiding, which is in a pile of hay. Once he's found, he's spanked by her as his punishment. She tells Aesop that she's arranged a job for him to watch sheep. That's just what he does the next day, but it's too tedious for him. Therefore, he decides to play another prank on the other villagers by claiming that there's a wolf coming. While several of them flee and get to the safety of their homes, others, particularly the men, come running armed with various weapons. Aesop's mom is in disbelief that he's at it again. When the mayor asks Aesop where the wolf is, he tells him and the others there isn't really a wolf. They aren't pleased with him wasting their time and the mayor tells him not to do it again. Aesop claims he won't. Later that night, Aesop's mom has a talk with him about the event that took place earlier. She tries to get him to see that he shouldn't lie and play pranks because he'll be friendless, and there are other consequences that follow. Aesop doesn't seem to get the message and she asks him if he'd like another spanking. He tells her that won't be necessary before going to bed. Yet another day, he decides to play that prank once again. But when he encounters a wolf while in the forest for real this time, he is chased off and flees for his life. He tries crying out that there's a wolf after him, but the other villagers don't even bother coming this time, believing he's just trying to fool them again. Not even his mom comes. Fed up and distressed, she tells him to stop telling lies and cries. As he passes his home, his mom comes out and sees for herself he's serious this time. She and a few men, including the mayor, follow Aesop and the wolf. Aesop's mom trips and she cries out his name, but Aesop is far gone. Being too much for her, she collapses and begins to faint as the men comfort her.
After Aesop returns to his world from the adventure he's had in another with his friends Silkwing, Skitter, and Hawhee, Aesop sees his mom and they've found each other. He goes off running to her and she runs off to him. Aesop's friends watch this from afar, as mom and son happily reunited with an embrace.
Physical Appearance[]
Aesop's mother is a svelte woman. Her hair is brown with textured bangs, black eyes, and fair skin. She wears a white head scarf with a horizontal, triangular pattern across one thin line of the same color at the top and the same pattern across her shoulders. She wears a chocolate brown vest; a medallion yellow shirt with long sleeves and a burgundy triangular pattern and line around near the end of each of those; a long, pinstriped skirt with light coral and burgundy stripes; a white, waist apron with two medallion yellow lines near the bottom and around the ties of it; and coffee brown flats.
Personality[]
Aesop's mother is the typical parent who is motherly and nurturing. She's patient, but there's only so much patience she can have before she becomes overwhelmed and exasperated with Aesop's pranks. She's also loving, caring but disciplinary, wanting the best thing for her son, which is to do the right thing.
